I have led a life of self-reflection – a process that has served me well in discovering the truth of who I am. Likewise, this process delivers a wonderful way to begin a dialogue that provides feedback for others who search for their own truth and wish to discover personal significance.

Creating this page has given me an opportunity to share this gift and discover others with whom this may resonate with and wish to respond to. Please check weekly for my posts and the contributions of others. Feel free to share what resonates with you by posting a comment as a means to encourage a broader dialogue towards building a community of individuals who find meaning in declaring what they find significant.

I discovered the following poem fifty years ago and it still continues to resonate with me as much as it did then. As you speak it aloud, you experience its truth and often undergo moments of personal revelation especially with members of your family, or significant friends, and colleagues. As you read, being in the moment unlocks a flow of associations and reflections that authenticates who you are and gives it real meaning.

“Ear”
by John D. Engle, Jr.

Will you be
An ear for me
To sing into?
I need such an ear.
The voice rising
In earless wilderness,
Sometimes seems futile.
Sometimes
Not even an echo
Lets me know
That my words
Are alive.
Be an ear
For me,
And I will be
A song
For you.
